This new expansion consists of 25 new Kingdom cards and 2 basic cards that have promising abilities. It will allow players to keep building past gold and province. If in the beginning, players just imagine a big kingdom. Now, that dream is at hand because kingdoms can now stretch to astonishing extent. Donald X. Vaccarino really has a great idea to publish for this game. Well, what can be expected from a creator? Anyway, the main point of this expansion is about wealth. Players are given chance to boost their coin consumption and use them as power to become well off in the game. The enjoyment with this version is that one will be able to conquer neighboring kingdoms in style. It is like showing off richness to corporations in real life. You are not just a monarch in the game but also feeling like a CEO. With the variety of new cards, controlling the game through coins is just an easy task. There are already treasures that have abilities and cards that link a player to some treasures.
Also, by the name of the game itself, there are cards that are very expensive and can add up to one’s boastful thinking. Moving on, the set of rules are different for this expansion. As usual, a player has a goal to lay on mats that will represent as the area occupied by that player. Dominion Prosperity is a four player game that only lasts for about 30 minutes. Apparently, the game will end when there are three piles that are already empty. Also, the game could end if there were no provinces and colonies already. The funny thing about this game is the manipulation. Player will really act like illegal individuals that hoard gold. To a certain extent, the message of the game is that whoever has the gold got the rules in the kingdom. Well, unlike the Intrigue expansion, Dominion Prosperity needs the base Dominion game to be played. But, it is not even a downfall because the Dominion game is really promising by itself. As an added worth to the expansion, there are now goons card released that is meant for acquiring extra coins or earning 1 Victory Point for each card that will be bought this turn. Since a lot of cards are expensive in this game, more thinking are needed by the players. They need to change strategies in order to adapt to new and surprising circumstances. As a whole, players need to feel the money or coins circulating the game. In relation, more expensive cards mean more need for coins for larger purchasing power. To the sum of it all, this game has really given out a large steak for players.
